Designed to specifically to work with the high pressure levels that come along with CO2 and compressed gas boost control Turbosmart's Compressed Gas specific BoostGates feature a custom Nomex diaphragm design especially for \"fill and spill\" style boost control systems.\n\nUnlike a traditional external wastegates, which bypass exhaust gas around the turbine housing to reduce turbocharger shaft speed and effectively, boost levels - Charge Air Control is a controlled bleed of the compressed air on the cold side of the turbocharger system (ie boost). Mounted to the charge pipe, the Compressed Gas BoostGate can be used to modulate boost pressure directly, rather than the indirect method of traditional hot side boost control.\n\nCharge Air Control is specifically suited to applications like drag racing where turbocharger specifications have already been optimized and the turbine housing is not a limiting performance factor (ie engine pressure ratio’s below 1).
