Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy

At TJ Auto Parts, we are committed to supplying quality automotive parts and helping customers resolve any issues as fairly and efficiently as possible.

Please read this policy carefully before placing an order or submitting a return, refund, or warranty request.

By placing an order with TJ Auto Parts, you agree to this Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy.

This policy applies to online orders, trade orders, special orders, and any other purchases made through TJ Auto Parts.

1. Change of Mind Returns

TJ Auto Parts may accept change of mind returns at its discretion, provided all of the following conditions are met:

• A return request is submitted within 30 days of delivery
• The item is unused, uninstalled, and has not been fitted or attempted to be fitted
• The item is in original packaging
• The item and packaging are in clean, undamaged, resalable condition
• All accessories, manuals, labels, seals, and included parts are returned
• Proof of purchase is provided
• The return is approved by TJ Auto Parts before the item is sent back

Change of mind returns are not automatically accepted. Approval is at the discretion of TJ Auto Parts.

A restocking fee of up to 20% may apply to approved change of mind returns. The amount of any restocking fee will depend on the item, supplier charges, packaging condition, order type, and handling required.

Original shipping costs, express shipping costs, insurance charges, payment fees, and any other order related costs are non refundable for change of mind returns.

2. Non Returnable Items for Change of Mind

The following items cannot be returned for change of mind:

• Batteries
• Oils, fluids, lubricants, additives, and liquid products
• Electrical items that have been opened, fitted, installed, plugged in, or attempted to be installed
• Special order items
• Items ordered from overseas or specially imported for a customer
• Clearance, discontinued, or runout items
• Items that have been fitted, installed, used, marked, damaged, or attempted to be installed
• Items not in original packaging
• Items with damaged, written on, taped, missing, or incomplete packaging
• Items that are no longer in resalable condition
• Items supplied correctly but no longer required by the customer

These restrictions apply to change of mind returns only and do not limit any rights a customer may have under Australian Consumer Law.

3. Special Order Items

A special order item is any product that TJ Auto Parts does not normally keep in stock and orders from a supplier, manufacturer, distributor, or overseas source specifically to fulfil a customer order.

Special order items are final sale and cannot be cancelled, returned, exchanged, or refunded for change of mind once the order has been placed with the supplier.

This includes situations where the customer no longer requires the item, sells the vehicle, changes their mind, orders the wrong part, or experiences a delay outside the control of TJ Auto Parts.

Special order items may still be eligible for a remedy if they are faulty, incorrectly supplied, or otherwise covered under Australian Consumer Law.

4. Incorrect Part Selection

Customers are responsible for confirming that a part is suitable for their vehicle before purchasing.

TJ Auto Parts provides a Parts Finder service to assist with fitment confirmation. To assist with fitment, customers may be asked to provide details such as registration number, state, VIN, make, model, year, engine, trim, build date, or other vehicle information.

Fitment is only guaranteed where:

• Accurate vehicle details are provided by the customer before purchase
• TJ Auto Parts confirms the part as suitable in writing
• The vehicle has not been modified in a way that affects fitment
• The supplied vehicle information is complete and correct

Where a customer orders without requesting fitment confirmation, provides incorrect or incomplete vehicle details, selects the wrong item, or purchases a part based on their own research, any return will be treated as a change of mind return.

Incorrectly ordered parts must not be fitted, installed, marked, damaged, or removed from original packaging if the customer wishes to request a return.

5. Product Images, Descriptions and Vehicle Fitment Data

Product images, descriptions, specifications, and fitment data are provided to assist customers and may be supplied by manufacturers, distributors, data providers, or third party catalogues.

Images may be generic or used for illustration purposes only. Packaging, colour, branding, superseded part numbers, and minor product appearance may vary depending on manufacturer updates.

Customers should confirm compatibility before purchase where exact fitment, appearance, dimensions, or specifications are critical.

TJ Auto Parts is not responsible for incorrect ordering where the customer has not requested fitment confirmation before purchase.

6. Return Authorisation Process

All returns must be approved by TJ Auto Parts before being sent back.

To request a return, email contact@tjautoparts.com.au with:

• Order number
• Customer name
• Item being returned
• Reason for return
• Photos of the item and packaging
• Vehicle details, where relevant

Once the request is reviewed, TJ Auto Parts will confirm whether the return is approved and provide return instructions.

Items sent back without approval may be refused, returned to sender, or held until any applicable costs are paid.

7. Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs when sending goods back to TJ Auto Parts.

This includes returns for change of mind, incorrect part selection, exchanges, items ordered incorrectly by the customer, and any goods that need to be returned for inspection or assessment.

All returns must be approved by TJ Auto Parts before being sent back. Items returned without approval may be refused, returned to sender, or held until any applicable costs are paid.

Customers must use suitable packaging and a tracked shipping service. TJ Auto Parts is not responsible for items lost, damaged, or delayed in transit while being returned by the customer.

Return shipping costs, packaging costs, insurance costs, courier fees, express freight charges, and any other return related costs are the responsibility of the customer unless TJ Auto Parts agrees otherwise in writing before the item is sent.

If an item is returned and found to be used, fitted, damaged, incomplete, not in original packaging, not in resalable condition, incorrectly ordered, incorrectly installed, or not eligible for return, the customer will be responsible for any costs to have the item returned to them.

8. Inspection of Returned Goods

All returned items are inspected before any refund, exchange, or store credit is processed.

TJ Auto Parts may refuse a return, reduce the refund amount, or apply a restocking fee if:

• The item has been used, fitted, installed, marked, damaged, or attempted to be installed
• The item or packaging is damaged, missing, incomplete, taped, written on, or not in resalable condition
• Accessories, manuals, labels, seals, or included parts are missing
• The item returned is different to the item supplied
• The return was sent without approval
• The item is excluded from change of mind returns

If a return is refused after inspection, the customer will be responsible for any costs to have the item returned to them.

9. Refund Processing

Once an approved return has been received and inspected, refunds will usually be processed within 2 business days.

Refunds will be issued to the original payment method unless otherwise agreed by TJ Auto Parts.

Depending on the payment provider or financial institution, funds may take 3 to 5 business days to appear in the customer’s account after processing.

TJ Auto Parts reserves the right to refuse or reduce a refund where returned goods do not meet the approved return conditions.

10. Damaged, Incorrect or Missing Items

Customers must inspect their order as soon as it is received.

If an item arrives damaged, incorrect, or with items missing, the customer must notify TJ Auto Parts within 48 hours of delivery.

Email contact@tjautoparts.com.au with:

• Order number
• Clear photos of the item
• Clear photos of the packaging
• Photos of any damage
• Description of the issue

Failure to report transit damage within 48 hours may affect our ability to lodge a claim with the freight provider.

Customers must keep the item, packaging, labels, and any damaged cartons until the claim is resolved.

Do not install, use, dispose of, or return the item until TJ Auto Parts provides instructions.

11. Warranty Claims

Products supplied by TJ Auto Parts are covered by Australian Consumer Law and any applicable manufacturer warranty.

Manufacturer warranties apply in addition to the rights and guarantees provided under Australian Consumer Law.

To submit a warranty claim, customers must email contact@tjautoparts.com.au and provide:

• Order number or proof of purchase
• Description of the fault
• Photos or videos showing the issue, where possible
• Vehicle details, where applicable
• Installation details, where applicable
• Any diagnostic reports, fault codes, or supporting information requested
• Details of when the issue occurred and how the product was used

Warranty claims may require inspection, testing, diagnosis, or assessment by TJ Auto Parts, the manufacturer, distributor, or an authorised warranty agent before an outcome can be determined.

Products must be returned to TJ Auto Parts or the nominated assessment location before a warranty outcome can be finalised.

Customers must not continue using a product after a fault becomes known, as continued use may cause further damage and may affect the warranty assessment.

12. Warranty Assessment and No Fault Found

Warranty claims are subject to assessment. A replacement, repair, refund, store credit, or other remedy will only be provided once the claim has been approved, unless otherwise required by Australian Consumer Law.

If an item is returned as faulty and testing finds no fault, or the issue is found to be caused by incorrect installation, incorrect part selection, misuse, modification, vehicle fault, contamination, external damage, or use outside manufacturer specifications, the claim may be rejected.

Where a claim is rejected or no fault is found, the customer may be responsible for:

• Re delivery costs
• Supplier or manufacturer testing fees
• Inspection or handling fees
• Any other reasonable costs incurred

TJ Auto Parts will always aim to handle warranty claims fairly and efficiently.

13. Warranty Exclusions

Warranty may not cover faults, damage, or failure caused by:

• Incorrect installation
• Incorrect part selection
• Installation by an unqualified or unsuitable person
• Failure to follow manufacturer instructions
• Misuse, abuse, neglect, or accident damage
• Vehicle modification or use outside manufacturer specifications
• Racing, motorsport, competition, or off road use unless the product is specifically designed for that purpose
• Normal wear and tear
• Lack of maintenance
• Contamination, incorrect fluids, incorrect voltage, poor wiring, poor earthing, or related vehicle faults
• Damage caused by another failed component
• Commercial use where the product is not specified or suitable for that use
• Products that have been modified, opened, tampered with, or repaired without approval

Third party labour, diagnosis, installation, removal, towing, hire car, downtime, storage, loss of income, or related costs are not covered unless required by Australian Consumer Law or approved by TJ Auto Parts in writing before the cost is incurred.

14. Electrical Items

Electrical items must be correctly diagnosed before purchase and installed by a suitably qualified person.

Electrical items that have been opened, plugged in, fitted, installed, or attempted to be installed cannot be returned for change of mind.

Warranty claims for electrical items may require diagnostic evidence, installation details, photos, videos, or testing before an outcome can be determined.

Electrical items may not be covered where failure is caused by incorrect installation, poor wiring, voltage issues, incorrect diagnosis, vehicle faults, contamination, water damage, short circuits, or misuse.

15. Batteries

Batteries cannot be returned for change of mind due to transport safety regulations, dangerous goods requirements, handling restrictions, storage requirements, and the risk of incorrect use after delivery.

Battery warranty claims may require testing, charging system checks, vehicle electrical checks, and manufacturer or distributor assessment.

Battery warranty may not cover failure caused by incorrect fitment, incorrect application, overcharging, undercharging, parasitic drain, faulty alternator, faulty starter motor, poor earth, vehicle electrical fault, neglect, misuse, physical damage, or allowing the battery to become deeply discharged.

16. Oils, Fluids and Liquid Products

Oils, fluids, lubricants, additives, and other liquid products cannot be returned for change of mind.

This is due to contamination risk, storage requirements, seal integrity, safety requirements, and resale restrictions.

If a liquid product is damaged in transit, leaking, incorrect, or otherwise faulty, customers must notify TJ Auto Parts within 48 hours of delivery and provide photos of the product and packaging.

17. Order Cancellations

Customers should contact TJ Auto Parts as soon as possible if they wish to cancel an order.

Cancellation requests are not guaranteed. Orders cannot usually be cancelled once they have been packed, dispatched, ordered from a supplier, specially imported, or processed as a special order.

If an order is cancelled before dispatch and before supplier costs are incurred, a refund may be issued.

If supplier charges, payment fees, handling costs, freight costs, or other costs have already been incurred, these may be deducted from any refund where permitted by law.

18. Freight Delays and Delivery Issues

TJ Auto Parts will assist customers where possible with tracking updates, courier enquiries, and freight issues.

Delivery timeframes are estimates only and may vary due to courier delays, supplier delays, public holidays, incorrect delivery details, weather events, remote locations, dangerous goods requirements, or circumstances outside the control of TJ Auto Parts.

A delivery delay does not automatically entitle a customer to cancel an order or receive a refund once the order has been dispatched, unless required by Australian Consumer Law.

Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery details.

Additional freight charges may apply for re delivery, address correction, refused delivery, or return to sender.

19. Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

Where a product has a minor failure, TJ Auto Parts may choose to provide a repair, replacement, refund, or other remedy in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

Where a product has a major failure, customers may be entitled to choose a refund or replacement in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
